  • A Future With Hope: Jeremiah 29:11-13

11 For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope. 12 Then when you call upon me and come and pray to me, I will hear you. 13 When you search for me, you will find me; if you seek me with all your heart,

    Daily Reflection

The Lord has plans for us that I was not even aware of; plans to give me HOPE for the future.  Plans to overcome despairs, fears, and anxieties over what the future might bring.  I searched for his wisdom through prayer, for His guidance, and realized He was always there and with me.  I was never alone, and now I know He will be with me forevermore.

Without Hope and a future, I found myself lost in a deep black hole that enveloped me and I could not climb out and see the light again; paralyzing thoughts and images, but very real. I felt completely devastated, consumed and overshadowed by the evil that had surrounded me.  I worried about loved ones, their needs, and selfishly my own needs.  I called on His help over and over again.  When I stopped to really listen, I heard and felt His presence. He made me realize that there is always HOPE and with HOPE, a FUTURE.  All we need to do is look and seek.

    Daily Prayer

Dear Lord, I have passed another day, and thank you for your care.  As darkness deepens, help me see the Hope and Future yet to come. Amen.

Lenten Devotionals

We are all in need of HOPE, now more than ever, so this devotional revolves around the theme of “A Future with Hope”.

In keeping with this year’s theme, which is from the book of Jeremiah,   we chose only a handful of texts from both the Old and New testament (12 to be exact) that speak directly to Hope. We thought it would be  interesting to see/read a number of different perspectives on the same text, just as it is for scholarship, sermons or bible studies on the same texts.

Download your copy and check back each day on FaceBook and Twitter for the Daily Devotional!

“Dear Saints” – Pastor’s Blog

Stop And Take Notice

Dear Saints, Recently we’ve had a few wonderful and unseasonably warm days for February or even March! It’s amazing how sunny skies and a break in cold temps can lift one’s spirits. Perhaps you also heard Cardinals changing their tune from the winter chirps as they seek food/water in deep winter to a joyful song when warm breezes begin to blow. It’s also fun to see how little warmth and sun it takes for the brown grass to start greening again. Throughout the Millennia, Christian spiritual leaders have suggested that in times of spiritual drought one reliable way to connect ...

Listening, Noticing and Loving

Dear Saints, You may or may not have heard that our monthly worship and ministry theme, is “Loving through Deeper Listening”. WAIT! Before you scroll down or away from this missive, don’t worry. I am not expecting that we’ll be working on all sorts of esoteric contemplative practices (unless that’s your favorite method - to listen). But I DO hope that you’ll be open to learning different ways to listen more deeply. This means listening more deeply to scripture, more deeply to God in prayer, in worship and as you go about your day and your life. But we all ...
