Remind Us

Remind us often, Lord
that we are chosen
to share the good news,
and point the way to you.

Remind us often, Lord
that in our labors
we can show your love
in everything we do.

Remind us often, Lord
that through your power
we can do all things,
your Spirit sets us free.

Remind us often, Lord
that we are chosen
to live by your Word
and reveal your glory!

Prayer for Easter

Lord, the resurrection of Your Son has given us new life and renewed hope. Help us to live as Easter people trusting in your Redemption. Grant us wisdom to know what we must do, the will to want to do it, the courage to undertake it, the perseverance to continue to do it, and the grace to complete it.

— Adapted from “New Saint Joseph People’s Prayer Book”

An Advent Prayer

In this Advent of expectation draw us together in unity,
that our praise and worship might echo in these walls and also through our lives.

In this Advent of expectation draw us together in mission,
that the hope within might be the song we sing, and the melody of our lives.

In this Advent of expectation draw us together in service,
that the path we follow might lead us from a stable to a glimpse of eternity.

To you, O God

we give up the burdens of this day,
trusting your love and mercy.

To you, O God
we surrender ourselves,
trusting you to lead us
in the way of peace in our lives and in
our world through the night
into tomorrow, and forever. Amen

Party Blessing

The Maker’s blessing be yours
on your road
On your journey
Guiding you, cherishing you.

The Son’s blessing be yours
wine and water
bread and stories
feeding you, challenging you.

The Spirit’s blessing be yours
wind and fire
joy and wisdom
comforting you, disturbing you.

The Angels’ blessings be yours
on your house
on your living
guarding you, encouraging you.

The blessing of pilgrims
All the nights and days
of our journey home.

He Asked For Charity

God came to my house and
asked for charity.
And I fell on my knees
and cried,
“Beloved, what may I give?”
“Just love,” He said.
“Just love.”
–Prayer of St. Francis

A Blessing of Peace

May today there be peace within.

May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.

May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.

May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given you.

May you be content knowing that you a child of God.

Let this presence settle into our bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.

It is there for each and every one.

–St. Teresa of Avila
